The Greater Connellsville Toy Drive has officially begun, inviting the community to come together and brighten the holiday season for local children in need. With the slogan, “Spare a Toy and Share the Joy,” organizer Max House is enthusiastic about rallying the community once again for this beloved annual tradition.
A Partnership In Service
Now in its sixth year, the toy drive has grown into a powerful community collaboration. This year, Connellsville Lions Club is proud to co-sponsor the drive alongside Connellsville Rotary Club, Penn Highlands Healthcare, and the Greater Connellsville Chamber of Commerce. Thanks to the generosity of our friends and neighbors, hundreds of children throughout the Connellsville Area School District will have a brighter Christmas.
New, unwrapped toy donations can be dropped off at House Financial at 815 Memorial Blvd., Connellsville, as well as other community locations like Somerset Trust and Penn Highlands Connellsville. Collection boxes are also stationed at numerous businesses and community spots, making it convenient to contribute. Donations will be accepted through December 8.
Unwrapped Toys or Monetary Donations
Additionally, donations of toys will be gathered at the Greater Connellsville Chamber of Commerce Christmas Mixer on December 12 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Aaron’s Building. Monetary donations are also appreciated and can be mailed to the Connellsville Rotary at PO Box 1010, Connellsville, PA 15425. All contributions directly support children within the local area, ensuring a true “give local” impact.
The Connellsville Area Community Ministries, Connellsville Area Ministerial Association, and Alternatives.Yes! are once again instrumental in distributing the collected toys to families in need. Their collaboration with local organizations and volunteers helps guarantee that every child registered with the program experiences the joy of the holiday season.
Excitement Over This Year's Toy Drive
The response from the Connellsville community has been remarkable, with a record-breaking number of donations received last year. Linda Tasser of the Connellsville Rotary Club shared her excitement for this year’s drive, expressing confidence that the outpouring of support will surpass past records. “This is a community that truly comes together,” Tasser said, “and that’s something we can all be proud of.”
